South Island Tour

Day 1: Arrive in Christchurch. A representative of VSL Golf will meet you at the Christchurch International Airport and assist with arranging pick-up of rental car. Transfer to Terra Vive Motor Lodge and enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure in beautiful Christchurch City.

Day 2: Mid-morning drive to Clearwater Golf Course a championship course that regularly hosts leading professional tournaments including the New Zealand PGA Championships. After lunch at the club enjoy the afternoon and evening exploring Christchurch City.

Day 3: A day at leisure and to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christchurch and its surrounds with options including a day trip to Kaikoura to do some whale-watching or a shorter drive to the coastal village of Akaroa and the chance to do some cruising and enjoying watching dolphins in the wild.

Day 4: Morning departure and drive to Terrace Downs approximately 60 minutes from Christchurch and enjoy a round of golf at the spectacular Terrace Downs Golf Course in the foot of the Southern Alps after a relaxed luncheon at the Clubrooms. After the round travel on to Methven and check in to The Lodge on Chertsey for an evening at a delightful alpine village.

Day 5: Early morning departure for the spectacular drive from Methven via Geraldine through the Southern Alp region to Queenstown-an enjoyable drive of approximately 5 to 6 hours including sight-seeing and a lunch stop at beautiful Lake Tekapo. Accommodation in Queenstown at Earnslaw Lodge overlooking Lake Wakatipu.

Day 6: Morning tee off at the nearby Queenstown Golf Club at Kelvin Heights-another excellent club golf course that overlooks the Lake. Following the round of golf enjoy exploring Queenstown and its many attractions. Suggest maybe a meal at the fabulous Botswana Barbeque Restaurant down on the lake front.

Day 7: Another day of sight-seeing and enjoying the many activities available in Queenstown. Available options include cruising on the Lake, visiting world-class wineries, jet-boating, tramping, exploring historic and picturesque Arrowtown or just relaxing and walking around in Queenstown itself. Another restaurant suggestion is The Bunker which is an exclusive (reasonably pricey) establishment in the centre of town-bookings are essential.

Day 8: Drive through to nearby Arrowtown for a morning tee time at the renowned Millbrook Resort Golf Course. Following your round on a course surrounded by spectacular mountain ranges enjoy lunch at the Clubrooms and then head into historic Arrowtown for an afternoon in a beautiful mountain village. Evening at leisure in Queenstown and the chance to seek out another of the outstanding restaurants.

Day 9: Mid-morning take the short drive to Jacks Point Golf Club a new course sited between the Remarkable Mountain Range and Lake Wakatipu. A very enjoyable golfing experience in a unique setting can be followed with lunch in the Clubrooms. The afternoon is free to enjoy more of Queenstown and its surrounds.

Day 10: Mid morning check out of your accommodation, return your rental vehicle at the Airport and fly to Auckland Domestic Airport. A representative of VSL will meet you at the Airport and if time allows will take you on a sight-seeing tour of Auckland before assisting you with your international departure.
